Carlos Blaine, PhDRegional CoordinatorCarlos Blaine is a Regional Coordinator for Florida’s Problem Solving/Response to Intervention Project. He supports district leaders and leadership teams to prepare all students for college, career and life readiness by developing and sustaining an integrated model of multi-tiered systems of supports. Dr. Blaine holds a Bachelor of Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology, a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a cognate in Exceptional Student Education. Dr. Blaine has more than 15 years of experience as an educator, including three years at the district level in Seminole County as an MTSS Intervention Specialist, 12 years as an Early Childhood educator in Broward County and one year as an ESE Coach in North Carolina. His research interest include the disproportionate rate in which students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds are classified for special education, particularly in the high incidence categories (e.g., SLD) and the evidence-based interventions proven to successfully remediate these students.
