While the courses in this series can be taken at any time, it is recommended to follow the order presented for maximum understanding and benefit. The target audience for this RtI-E 3.0 series is all educators that are members of the school leadership team, as well as educators involved in the evaluation process and eligibility decision making for students suspected of having a Specific Learning Disability.

| The Rule Outs | 1 hour | This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to apply the Big 5 Ideas and Florida’s Specific Learning Disability (SLD) eligibility criteria. It focuses on understanding the exclusionary factors—cultural, environmental or economic, limited English proficiency, and attendance—and their connection to Tier 1 instruction. | Diving Deeper: Comprehensive Evaluation Procedures for SLD Across Tiers | 1 hour | This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to apply Florida’s Specific Learning Disability (SLD) eligibility criteria across Tiers 1, 2, and 3. | Appropriate Instruction (Parts 1 and 2) | 1 hour | These courses provide participants with the knowledge and skills to support the application of Florida’s Specific Learning Disability (SLD) eligibility criteria and the Big 5 Ideas within their districts and schools. Participants will explore how to define and measure appropriate instruction, reflect on current practices, and identify opportunities for improvement. | Dual Discrepancy & Decision Rules | 1 hour | This course provides participants with enhanced knowledge and skills to apply Florida’s Specific Learning Disability (SLD) eligibility criteria and the Big 5 Ideas within their districts and schools. It emphasizes the role of Response to Intervention (RtI) in the SLD framework, focusing on the dual-discrepancy model in which students demonstrate both low academic performance and insufficient response to intensive instruction.
