Appropriate Reading Assessments for Data-Based Decision Making

This course focuses on the purpose and characteristics of the five types of assessments commonly used in educational decision making. Participants will learn the characteristics of each assessment type, which data are used during each step of the problem-solving process, and why particular data are appropriate for use in each step. Potential misuses of data are also discussed, and participants will reflect on current assessment practices in their building or district.
